ABOUT THE HOSTEL

Where is the surf house located?
We are in the heart of Taghazout, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and close to the best surf spots.

What type of accommodation do you offer?
We have private rooms and shared dorms, all designed for comfort with a relaxed surf vibe.

Are meals included?
Yes, we provide a daily healthy breakfast. Traditional Moroccan dinners are available on selected nights.

Is there WiFi and hot water?
Yes, we offer high-speed WiFi throughout the hostel, and hot showers are available at all times.

What should I bring?
Pack your beachwear, sunscreen, and comfortable clothes for warm days. If you have your own surf gear, you can bring it, but we also provide everything you need.

 

ABOUT TAGHAZOUT

What is the nearest airport?
The closest airport is Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA), about 45 minutes away by car.

Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes, we can arrange a transfer from Agadir airport. Just let us know in advance to book this service.

How can I get around Taghazout?
Taghazout is a small village where everything is within walking distance. For trips to Agadir or nearby beaches, you can take a shared taxi or local bus.

Can I pay by card in Taghazout?
Most places in Taghazout accept cash only. We recommend withdrawing Moroccan dirhams (MAD) before arriving.

Where can I find an ATM?
You can find ATM in Taghazout. If you want to change, the nearest change office is in Tamraght (10 minutes from taghazout).

 

ABOUT SURFING

Do I need experience to stay at the surf house?
Not at all! We welcome all levels, from complete beginners to advanced surfers.

Do you offer surf lessons?
Yes! We provide daily surf lessons with experienced instructors, including theory, practice, and personalized coaching.

What’s included in the surf packages?
Our surf packages include accommodation, daily breakfast, surf lessons, board and wetsuit rental, lunch, dinners and transport to the best surf spots.

Can I bring my own surfboard?
Of course! If you have a favorite board, feel free to bring it. 

 

ABOUT LIFE IN TAGHAZOUT

What is the weather like?
Taghazout has great weather all year round. In winter (November–February), temperatures range from 20-25°C. In summer (June–September), it gets warmer, but the ocean breeze keeps it pleasant.

Are there shops and restaurants nearby?
Yes, Taghazout has local grocery stores, surf shops, cafes, and restaurants serving both Moroccan and international food.

Is alcohol available in Taghazout?
Taghazout is a traditional village, so alcohol is not widely available in shops or restaurants. Some places serve drinks, but for a wider selection, you can buy alcohol in Agadir.

Is there a pharmacy or medical center in Taghazout?
There is a small pharmacy in Taghazout for basic needs. For hospitals or larger pharmacies, you’ll need to go to Agadir.

Is it safe to walk around Taghazout at night?
Yes, Taghazout is a safe and friendly village. You can walk around freely at any time of the day or night.

Beginner-friendly spots

Panorama

Location: Taghazout Beach
Level: Beginner – Intermediate
Wave Type: Long, mellow right-hand waves
Description: Panorama is a great spot for beginners and longboarders, offering soft, rolling waves that are perfect for learning. It’s an easy paddle out and provides plenty of space to practice. Works best on a mid to high tide. 

Crocodiles

Location: Between Tamraght and Devil’s Rock
Level: Beginner – Intermediate
Wave Type: Soft right-handers, sandy bottom
Description: Named after the rock formation that resembles a crocodile, this beach break is one of the best places to learn. The sandy bottom makes it a safe option for beginners.

Devil’s Rock

Location: Tamraght, five minutes from Taghazout
Level: Beginner – Intermediate
Wave Type: Fun right-hand waves with occasional lefts
Description: One of the most popular surf spots for all levels, Devil’s Rock offers easy take-offs, playful waves, and a beautiful setting. Best surfed on a mid to high tide.

Intermediate to advanced spots

Banana Point

Location: Near Aourir (Banana Village)
Level: Intermediate – Advanced
Wave Type: Long, peeling right-hander
Description: A fun and long right-hander that works best with a mid-size swell. Perfect for those who want to progress from beginner waves to longer, faster rides.

Anchor Point

Location: Taghazout
Level: Advanced – Expert
Wave Type: Powerful, long right-hand point break
Description: The most famous wave in Morocco and one of the best in the world. When the swell is big, you can ride waves for hundreds of meters. Works best on a low to mid tide and needs a solid swell to show its true potential. Expect a crowd of skilled surfers.

Killers

Location: North of Taghazout
Level: Advanced
Wave Type: Hollow, fast right-hander
Description: One of the most consistent waves in the area. When the swell is big, expect powerful and barreling waves. The paddle-out can be challenging, but the reward is an epic wave. Named after the killer whales that sometimes pass by.

Boilers

Location: North of Taghazout, near Tamri
Level: Advanced – Expert
Wave Type: Heavy, fast right-hand reef break
Description: A powerful and technical wave, with fast take-offs and hollow sections. The rocky bottom makes it a spot for experienced surfers only. The name comes from an old ship boiler that still rests on the shore.

Tamri

Location: Thirty minutes north of Taghazout
Level: All levels
Wave Type: Beach break, lefts and rights
Description: A consistent beach break that picks up more swell than other spots. Perfect for a day trip when other places are too small. Suitable for all levels depending on the conditions.

Imsouane (The Bay)

Location: One hour and a half north of Taghazout
Level: Beginner – Intermediate
Wave Type: Longest right-hand wave in Morocco
Description: A dream for longboarders, Imsouane’s Bay offers rides of up to 500 meters. It’s a magical, mellow wave that makes for an unforgettable surf session.
